Early in my career, I learned this lesson the hard way. My team could tell within minutes of me walking in the door what kind of mood I was in. If I was stressed, frustrated, or carrying the weight of the day, it showed. My attitude set the tone for everyone around me.
Looking back, I am not proud of how I used to lead in those moments.
What I came to realize is that leadership is not about letting your emotions lead the day. Leadership is about making a choice.
Positivity is a leadership choice.
When I became more intentional about showing up with enthusiasm, encouragement, and a positive mindset, everything began to change. My team responded better. Communication improved. Energy increased. Most importantly, we got better results—both for ourselves and for the business.
Culture starts at the top.
The energy you bring into your business each day ripples through your team, your customers, and your overall environment.
People are always watching the leader.
- They watch how you respond to challenges.
- They watch how you treat others.
- They watch how you carry yourself in difficult moments.
