As a new year approaches, many people begin thinking about what they want 2026 to look like. They set resolutions, make lists, and hope this will finally be the year things change. Yet for many, those intentions fade quickly. The issue isn’t desire—it’s clarity and direction.
True progress starts when you stop reacting to the calendar and start leading your life with intention. Strategic coach Dan Sullivan frames this beautifully with what he calls The Ultimate Question:
“If we were having this discussion three years from today, and you were looking back over those three years, what has to have happened in your life—personally and professionally—for you to feel happy with your progress?”
This question shifts your focus from short-term fixes to long-term fulfillment. It invites you to think holistically about the key areas that shape both success and significance: Professional, Health, Spiritual, Relationships, Financial, and Learning. While your professional life often receives added attention—because it influences income, time freedom, and opportunity—real growth requires alignment across all six domains.
Clarity alone, however, is not enough. Vision must be paired with meaningful goals. Too often, goals are vague, unrealistic, or disconnected from what truly matters. If 2026 is going to be different, your goals must be S.M.A.R.T.E.R.:
S.M.A.R.T.E.R. goals bring focus to your effort. They replace busy activity with purposeful action. Instead of drifting through the year, you begin making intentional progress toward what matters most.

Once clarity and goals are in place, consistency becomes the differentiator. That’s where my CHARGE framework comes into play: Create Habits Around Real Goals Every day. Success isn’t built in big, dramatic moments—it’s built through daily disciplines, repeated actions, and steady commitment. When your habits support your goals, momentum follows.
As you prepare for 2026, don’t wait for January to get serious. Take time now to reflect, clarify your direction, and commit to S.M.A.R.T.E.R. goals supported by consistent habits. When clarity, goals, and daily action work together, transformation becomes inevitable.
2026 can be your best year yet—if you start with clarity and lead with intention.
